Neighbourhood Manager
Neighbourhood Manager (Two Roles Available)
Locations:
- Newham – office base at our new Dagenham Green site
- Islington – office base Hugh Cubitt Centre
Interviews - 6 May
Are you a people person who loves getting things done and making a visible difference in neighbourhoods? Do you believe in being kind, doing the right thing, and keeping promises to residents? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re recruiting two Neighbourhood Managers who will be the face of our organisation in their local areas. You’ll take pride in building strong relationships with residents, partners and colleagues, and in delivering services that are simple, safe and smart.
The roles
Both posts are neighbourhood‑based, combining time on your patch with office working:
- Newham role: Based from our new Dagenham Green office. Due to the size and spread of the patch, a full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.
- Islington role: Based in Islington / North London. Having access to a car is desirable, but we welcome applications from candidates who live in North London or close to the patch and can travel effectively without one.
About the role
As a Neighbourhood Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of your patch, acting as a single point of contact and ensuring residents feel listened to, supported and informed.
Your work will reflect our service standards, by:
- Getting things sorted and following issues through to resolution
- Keeping residents updated and setting clear expectations
- Being honest and accountable in everything you do
- Listening and supporting, especially when residents are vulnerable or facing challenges
- Learning and improving, using feedback and insight to strengthen services
This role is ideal for someone who is choosing a career in housing, motivated to make a difference in neighbourhoods and proud to be part of #ChooseHousing.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as the single point of contact for residents across a mixed‑tenure neighbourhood
- Managing tenancies and leasehold matters, including enforcement where needed
- Creating and delivering costed Neighbourhood Plans to improve satisfaction, safety and performance
- Carrying out estate, scheme and property inspections, identifying issues and driving improvement
- Working with managing agents (where applicable), monitoring performance and ensuring services meet agreed standards and resident expectations
- Responding to complaints, ASB and community safety concerns with fairness, empathy and professionalism
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to build safe, inclusive and thriving neighbourhoods
- Championing customer engagement and ensuring services are accessible, high quality and value for money
What we’re looking for
- Someone who truly lives our values: Be kind. Do the right thing. Love new ideas. Celebrate diversity. Keep our promises. Pull together.
- Experience in a customer‑facing role, ideally within housing management or the social housing sector
- Knowledge of tenancy and leasehold management, enforcement and safeguarding
- Confidence managing a varied caseload, with strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- A resilient, compassionate and problem‑solving mindset
- Willingness to undertake a Level 3 qualification in Housing Management, if not already held
Why join us?
You’ll be part of a supportive, values‑led organisation where residents are at the heart of what we do. We work simply, safely and smartly, support one another to succeed, and are committed to learning and improving our services.
What we offer:
- Flexible and hybrid working
- 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Up to 10% pension contribution, matched 1:1
- Two additional paid volunteering days per year
- Flexible benefits scheme, including healthcare and dental options
Recruitment process
We’re committed to a fair, inclusive and transparent recruitment process.
