Location: Elmhurst Primary School (Newham), with some travel across North East London & Essex.
Salary: Commensurate with experience: TLR 2c or Leadership L7-11 with inner London allowance.
Commitment: Full-time or Part-time (0.8 FTE) consideration available.
The highly successful New Vision English Hub, one of 34 nationally recognised English Hubs funded by the Department for Education (DfE), invites applications for the position of English Hub Lead. This is a strategic and leadership opportunity to drive excellence in the teaching of phonics, reading for pleasure and early language development across North East London and Essex.
The purpose of the English Hub Lead is to provide organisational leadership for all Hub activities. This includes:
- Strategic Planning and Oversight: Leading the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of English Hub initiatives and impact.
- Team Leadership: Directing and supporting the Literacy Specialist team to ensure effective delivery of the Hub’s mandate.
- DfE Liaison: Working closely with the Department for Education to ensure successful execution of national priorities.
- Driving Outcomes: Ensuring partner schools meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for reading and language development, with a specific focus on accelerating the progress of the lowest 20% of pupils.
We are seeking a candidate with:
- A proven and successful track record in the field of early reading and literacy
- Expert knowledge of Systematic Synthetic Phonics (SSPs)
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage a team of specialists.
New Vision English Hub is hosted by the outstanding Elmhurst Primary School, which is also designated as a Maths Hub, located in the heart of Newham.
