The Green Spaces and Street Scene Service is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Calderdale's parks, open spaces, play areas, countryside, woodlands, streets and public realm. Our teams play a vital role in ensuring that residents and visitors can enjoy clean, safe and attractive environments throughout the borough.

We are looking to recruit 5 x scale 3 Operatives (Parks and Greenspaces) to join our dedicated team and help maintain Calderdale's green spaces to a high standard.

Working as part of the Green Spaces and Street Scene Service, you will undertake a wide variety of grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks including grass cutting, strimming, hedge maintenance, planting, litter picking, sweeping, landscape maintenance and the safe use of tools, machinery and equipment. You will contribute to maintaining parks, play areas, highways, open spaces and public realm assets across the borough.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individuals who enjoy working outdoors and can demonstrate strong organisational, interpersonal and customer care skills. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, have a flexible approach to work and be committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety.

The role is physically demanding and involves regular lifting, carrying, bending and walking. You will work predominantly outdoors in all weather conditions and may be required to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays or other hours to meet the needs of the service.

This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa.
