Outreach Support Worker – Empower People to Live Independently and Thrive

Are you someone who thrives on helping others unlock their potential? As an Outreach Support Worker, you’ll be the friendly face and guiding hand for vulnerable individuals across Basildon, supporting them to live independently, confidently, and with purpose. This isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to make a lasting impact in your community.

What you’ll do

  • Visit customers in their homes to help them maintain tenancies and develop essential life skills.
  • Support people with navigating welfare benefits, accessing services, and building confidence.
  • Work closely with external agencies to ensure customers receive the right support at the right time.
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed, always with empathy and professionalism.
  • Champion independence—this isn’t about doing things for people, it’s about helping them do it for themselves.

What you’ll need

  • Experience in a supportive role (paid or voluntary)
  • Understanding of mental health, physical health, and employment-related challenges
  • Knowledge of housing support needs and welfare benefits
  • Ability to provide pre-tenancy advice and ongoing tenancy support
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check

This role is a Fixed-Term Contract until March 2026.
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently across the Basildon area, so access to a car is essential.
Interviews will be held in person on Thursday 9th October at Pembroke House.
