Outreach Support Worker – Help People in Braintree, Maldon & Uttlesford Live Independently and Thrive
Are you someone who loves being out and about, meeting people, and making a real difference in your community? As an Outreach Support Worker, you’ll be the friendly face helping individuals overcome challenges and build the confidence to live independently. You won’t be doing things for people—you’ll be empowering them to do it for themselves.
This is a mobile role supporting people across Braintree, Maldon, and Uttlesford with everything from housing and health to employment and wellbeing. You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a car—but we’ll provide the purpose, the passion, and the team spirit.
What you’ll do
- Visit customers in their homes to help them maintain tenancies and build essential life skills
- Support people with navigating welfare benefits, accessing services, and building confidence
- Liaise with external agencies to make sure customers get the right support at the right time
- Provide crisis intervention when needed, always with empathy and professionalism
- Champion independence—this isn’t care work, it’s empowerment work
What you’ll need
- Experience in a supportive role (paid or voluntary)
- Understanding of mental health, physical health, and employment-related challenges
- Knowledge of housing support and welfare benefits
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
