About the role

• Patrolling in uniform and identifying vehicles parked in contravention of parking regulations

• Issuing penalty charge notices where necessary, to ensure our roads and car parks are accessible

• This is an outside role and involves walking several miles per day.

  • You will work flexibly to cover a shift pattern Monday – Sunday, including bank holidays

• Full training in parking enforcement will be provided

What will you be doing?

As a Parking Enforcement Officer, your day will be spent, mostly outside, in all weathers patrolling and enforcing through the issue of penalty charge notices against vehicles contravening the regulations. You will also be providing advice to residents, and members of the public, whist enforcing road traffic orders. You will play a significant role in improving road safety, managing and reconciling the competing demands for kerb space. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to different situations and show assertiveness where required, whilst remaining calm and diplomatic, using effective communication skills. You must have good people skills and be willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers.

About you

• Previous experience in an enforcement role

  • Physically fit

• With a keen eye for detail

• An excellent communicator able to encourage considerate parking whilst providing a high level of customer service

• Computer literate, you will be able to apply these skills to using a handheld device

  • A Full UK driving licence holder
