Are you a friendly, reliable driver with a passion for helping others?

As a Minibus Driver, you'll provide a safe, caring and professional transport service for older and vulnerable customers, helping them attend activities, appointments and outings. More than just a driver, you’ll be a valued part of our team, building positive relationships with customer s and ensuring every journey is safe, comfortable and enjoyable.

This is a part-time role based in Tower Hamlets, working afternoon shifts Monday to Friday (2.30pm – 5pm) with Saturday afternoon cover required approx. every 4 weeks. Some flexibility may be required for additional hours to cover absences

What you’ll do

  • Safely transport customers to and from their homes, activities and community outings.
  • Support customers with mobility needs, including wheelchair users.
  • Operate tail lifts, wheelchair restraints and other accessibility equipment.
  • Carry out vehicle checks and report faults promptly.
  • Ensure the minibus is safe, clean and roadworthy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Identify and report any safeguarding concerns in line with Peabody policies.
  • Use a smartphone and digital systems to access schedules, emails and service updates.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and maintain required training and qualifications.

What you’ll need

  • A valid PCV/D1 licence and experience driving a minibus.
  • Excellent communication and peoples skills
  • A caring, patient and empathetic approach
  • Basic IT skills including the ability to use emails, apps and smartphones

Nice to have

  • Experience using tail lifts and wheelchair-access equipment.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults
  • Experience moving and handling people
  • MiDAS training or willingness to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable people
  • Flexibility to work additional paid hours when required.
