About The Role

Hounslow Adult and Community Education (known as Learn Hounslow) delivers the council’s Adult Education Budget allocation, which funds a range of learning opportunities to help adults develop their knowledge, skills and confidence so they can re-skill, up-skill, move into work, improve their prospects and support their families.

We are currently seeking to increase our part-time sessional tutor panel and invite suitably qualified and experienced tutors with a passion for their specialist subject and the ability to engage with adults in a positive manner to deliver and assess learning. We are seeking tutors in the following areas:

-Arabic (Modern Standard)

-Art and Design

-Baking

-Cake Decoration

-Cookery

-Family Learning

-Nutrition

-Special Effects Make-up

-Textiles

-TV & Film

Purpose of The Role:

1.To deliver and assess engaging and motivating high-quality teaching and learning, which will enable learners to achieve their proposed learning outcomes.

2.To maintain the necessary teaching and learning documentation i.e., e-registers, schemes of work, records of assessment and achievement.

3.To adhere to and fully implement the principles and responsibilities of the Equality and Diversity Policy, in all aspects and duties of the role.

Your Skills:

Qualifications required for the role:

• Experience and subject specialist qualification L3 or above is essential
• Teaching Qualification L3 or above is required
• Experience relevant to teaching, learning and assessment
• Qualifications in English and maths skills at Level 2 or equivalent

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

You will join Hounslow Adult and Community Education team, as part of the Community Learning team. Community Learning aims to reach those that are furthest away from education and work, enhance learners’ life chances and improve wellbeing in the Borough through a targeted and relevant curriculum of non-accredited courses ranging in levels from wellbeing to advanced. Community Learning offers pathways into creative qualifications ranging in level from Entry 3 to Level 2.

About You

1. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with a range of people, from learners to senior managers, tutors and partners
2. Knowledge of the subject area
3. Excellent knowledge of and skills with educational digital technology
4. Excellent communication and organisational skills

Qualifications required for the role:

• Subject Specialism of at least Level 3 or above; Teaching Qualification Level 3 or above is essential
• Qualifications in English and maths skills at Level 2 or equivalent
• Experience relevant to teaching, learning and assessment
