Participation Apprentice

Qualification - Level 3 Youth Support Worker

Hours - 36 hours

Fixed term - 21 months

Salary - NMW plus 3% age dependent (breakdown per age group as below)

  • Age 16-17 £14,604 (£7.78 per hour)
  • Age 18-20 £19,335 (£10.30 per hour)
  • Age 21+ £23,615 (£12.58 per hour)

Apprenticeships are high quality, work-based training programmes for people who want to develop their prospects and career. The programme provides work-based training to those who want to learn new skills and gain qualifications while working.

The Participation Team are looking to recruit an apprentice who is committed and motivated to complete the 21 month programme.

Your main duties will be to support the Participation Team in providing opportunities for cared for and care experienced children and young people to be involved in shaping the services they receive. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Support the Participation Team in developing a range of opportunities for children and young people to have their voice heard including surveys, forums and consultation events.

Supporting the development and delivery of events throughout the year including summer activity sessions, care leavers week and Christmas celebrations.

Support the delivery of the Cared For and Care Experienced Councils.

Promote and develop the participation of children and young people, including those who are hard to reach.

Be responsible for maintaining accurate information relating to the participation service.

The role will require working evenings and occasional weekends.

The post will be based at Magdalen House, 30 Trinity Road, Bootle L20 3NJ but will require working at other venues across the borough.
