About the role

We are seeking dedicated, hardworking and reliable Patch Assistants to help us keep Crawley’s busy town centre clean, safe and well maintained.

In this role you will be litter picking, emptying bins, sweeping, removing graffiti and fly posters and clearing fly‑tipping. You will operate a range of cleansing equipment and tools, following all safety procedures and ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the town centre.

The successful individuals will demonstrate excellent customer service, professionalism and a willingness to work outdoors in all conditions - all are essential. You will work in full compliance with council policies, procedures and safety requirements, including safeguarding responsibilities, PPE use and risk assessments.

You must be reliable, willing to learn new skills, able to work independently when necessary and be prepared to work flexibly across our Neighbourhood Services division. You will have the physical capabilities to undertake the duties outlined.
Other duties may be assigned as required to support the effective delivery of the service.
