    About the Position

    As the Pensions Administration Officer you will be responsible for the effective administration of all pension schemes operated by the London Borough of Newham.

    Any successful candidate will need to have;

    • A strong background in Pension administration, preferably schemes operated by the local authority (LGPS, NHS, Teachers). They will have passion to work in collaboration, as the role will work with our third party administrators as well as the London Borough of Havering.
    • A passion to work to improve the service to our members and employers across both funds.

    The role will include;

    • Working with the Pensions Contracts Manager, the Payroll Service and the third party pension provider;
      • To ensure monthly Pensions and other statutory returns are completed
      • Manage and support the funds employers
      • Resolve complex service queries
      • Reconcile and manage pension payments to members
    • Provide training to officers and employers
    • Keeping an update on latest legislative and Regulations impact the pension schemes i.e. McCloud, Exit Cap and Monthly Contribution Reconciliation
