We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Peripatetic Outreach Worker to join team.

About the Role
As a Peripatetic Outreach Worker, you will provide intensive, child-focused support to young people and families who are experiencing crisis, at risk of family breakdown, or on the edge of care. Your work will help prevent children entering care, support family reunification, and promote long-term stability and positive outcomes.

Working across homes, communities and partner agencies, you will:

• Build meaningful relationships with children, young people and their families.
• Deliver creative, flexible and outcome-focused interventions.
• Provide practical and emotional support during times of crisis.
• Assess strengths, risks and needs, helping families develop sustainable solutions.
• Complete high-quality assessments, reports and risk management plans.
• Work collaboratively with a range of professionals and agencies.
• Provide support outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends when required.

About You
We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children, young people and families.
• Understands child development and the challenges facing vulnerable young people.
• Can communicate effectively and build trust with a wide range of people.
• Remains calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Is adaptable, resourceful and able to work independently.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Has strong observational, assessment and problem-solving skills.
• Is passionate about helping families achieve lasting positive change.
• Holds a full driving licence and has daily access to a vehicle.

Qualifications and Experience
You will ideally hold an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or be willing to achieve this qualification following appointment. We also welcome candidates with relevant experience and knowledge gained through working with children, young people and families.

Important Information
This role involves working flexibly, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and occasional sleep-in duties. Regular travel is required, and you may be expected to transport children and young people as part of your role. An enhanced DBS check is required.
