Pest Treatment Officer

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pest Treatment Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who takes pride in delivering a valuable public service, enjoys working independently and wants to have a direct impact on the quality of life of residents and businesses across County Durham.

Whether you already have experience in pest control or have transferable skills and are willing to develop your expertise, we want to hear from you.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Every day will be different. You'll work across County Durham providing advice, education and practical pest treatment solutions to residents, businesses, landlords and community organisations.

You'll:

• Deliver pest treatment services in domestic, commercial and rural settings.
• Investigate pest issues and identify the causes of infestations.
• Advise customers on prevention, proofing and good housekeeping practices.
• Work with a wide range of council services, housing providers and partner organisations.
• Promote high standards of public health, environmental protection and community wellbeing.
• Help strengthen the Council's reputation through professional, visible frontline service delivery.This is a role where your work has a genuine and immediate impact, helping people resolve issues that can affect their homes, businesses and quality of life.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
We're interested in people who are:

• Committed to safe working practices.
• Enthusiastic about learning and developing new skills.

You will need:

• 5 GCSEs including English (or equivalent).
• Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.
• A full driving licence.
• A willingness to undertake relevant pest control qualifications and training where required.
• Experience in pest control is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant transferable skills and the ability to learn.

If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in-house driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed.
