Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Development Management Team has a permanent vacancy for a full time Planning Technical Officer. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual with a demonstrable interest in the planning process.
What is the job?
Development Management are responsible for the determination of all planning applications within the Borough with the objective of securing continued housing, economic growth, regeneration, and infrastructure improvements that respect and enhance the natural and built environment, much of which is designated Green Belt and or Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Technical Team is at the heart of the process and plays a vital role in managing the administrative and technical elements of the planning application process and you will be involved at each stage.
Is this you?
You are self-motivated and used to working within a team. You have excellent IT skills, well developed time/workload management and able to effectively prioritise workloads. You have Good written and verbal communication skills and can be evidenced through previous work. You have excellent customer service skills and have a polite, tactful, diplomatic, and confident manner both on the phone and in person. You can communicate calmly and clearly while under pressure. You are equally comfortable working from home as you are in an office environment.
