Wakefield Council are looking to recruit an ambitious individual who is interested in furthering their career in Local Government within our successful Development Management Planning team.

The successful candidate will provide service support and undertake a range of duties including assisting and processing a range of planning and customer enquiries including, but not limited to, the discharge of planning conditions (including condition compliance); permitted development enquiries; enforcement related complaints; minor and non-material amendments to planning permissions, Community Infrastructure and/or legal agreement related enquiries; and Local Land Charges queries which includes undertaking comprehensive land charges searches and ensuring accurate and timely responses are provided to solicitors, conveyancers, property professionals and members of the public.

The successful candidate will be organised and driven, be able to case manage and coordinate a range of short to medium term planning or enforcement related submissions, and work effectively to deadlines.

You will need to be able to understand submitted plans/drawings and supporting information; negotiate with consultees, applicants and their agents; answer queries from members of the public and elected representatives; and become a key point of contact in relation to the duties undertaken.
