Join Our Team and Help Shape Homes That Matter
We are now recruiting for a Plasterer to join our Housing Maintenance and Asset Management team, helping us deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service to our residents.
In this role, you will carry out a range of plastering repairs, maintenance and installation work across our housing stock, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. You will also use your wider maintenance skills where required to support effective service delivery. Providing excellent customer service will be key, as you will be working directly in residents’ homes and helping to improve their living conditions.
You will have experience in plastering work within domestic and/or commercial settings and hold a relevant qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Plastering (or equivalent). A full driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, always works safely, and is committed to achieving right-first-time outcomes while keeping residents at the centre of everything you do.
We’re an ambitious, forward-thinking Council with strong values and a culture of doing our absolute best to serve our customers. We are proud of our organisational culture and receive positive feedback from our employees. We have a programme of internal activity to ensure that the voices of our employees are always heard and that they are kept informed on all Council activity and events. From roadshows to an annual award ceremony, from reviewing working arrangements to monthly craft sessions, it is incredibly important our employees are shown how valued they are and that they remain the beating heart of our workplace.
We offer:
• Enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme.
• A generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service.
• Family-friendly benefits.
• One days’ paid volunteering leave per year.
• Lifestyle benefits platform.
• Funded health cash plan.
• Free car parking to 31 March 2028.
• £10 a month gym membership at one of our gyms in the district.
• Provision of a works vehicle.
You will be working with a professional, committed and experienced team who are passionate about supporting us to deliver the objectives as outlined in our Community Plan.
