Lunchtime Play Leader
The duties of a Lunchtime Play Leader are to act as a member of the team, supervising children and running lunchtime activities both outside and inside depending on the weather. This will include leading outdoor games and sports activities.
You are expected to keep matters concerning staff and children confidential, and to refer matters when necessary to the Headteacher.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Ensure the safety of pupils during the lunchtime period; taking into account pupil ages, disability and behaviour.
2.
Arrange age-appropriate activities for pupils in the playground, or in the classroom during inclement weather.
3.
To report all accidents/illnesses to the Midday Supervisor or member of the Senior leadership team.
4.
To inform the Midday Supervisor if a pupil is to remain indoors.
5.
To carry out responsibilities under common law and the Health and Safety Act and to adhere to the school's health and safety policy.
6.
To maintain discipline during the lunch break and to promote adherence to the school's behaviour and anti-bullying policies, through a positive kind and caring approach.
Notwithstanding the detail in this job description, in accordance with the School’s/Local Authorities Flexibility Policy the job holder will undertake such work as may be determined by the Headteacher/Governing Body from time to time, up to or at a level consistent with the Main Responsibilities of the job.
