    Job introduction

    We are seeking to appoint a number of enthusiastic and motivated Play Workers for our new and exciting wraparound childcare provision that is set to launch for the new academic year. This will comprise of a breakfast club AND after school club in our school hall. Working hours will be 7.30am – 8.45am and 2.45pm – 6.15pm, Monday – Friday (term time). We welcome applications from those able to work at the breakfast and/or after school club, or those looking to work on particular days of the week.

    Responsibilities will vary but include:

    • Assisting with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
    • Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
    • Providing comprehensive care for the children, including safeguarding.
    • Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
    • Administering first aid when necessary.
    • Good communication with all members of the club, with the school, and especially with parents.
    • Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
    • Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.


    Experience required:
    • Experience of working with 4 to 8 year olds
    • Understanding the varied needs of children and families
    • Ability to work as part of a team
