Job description

The role and responsibilities

As a Policy Delivery Lead, you will help shape the future of pensions by turning complex ideas into clear, practical policies that support good outcomes for savers. Working closely with government, regulators and colleagues across the organisation, you will develop and deliver policy solutions such as legislation, codes and guidance. Your work will influence how pensions are regulated and ensure the system responds to emerging risks and opportunities.

You will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, sometimes leading and sometimes supporting, to build shared understanding and create strong policy options. The role offers the chance to learn and grow through exposure to strategic decision-making, stakeholder engagement and real-world policy delivery. By bringing together evidence, insight and clear thinking, you will help TPR make informed decisions that protect savers and strengthen confidence in the pensions landscape.

The role criteria

  • Strong knowledge of the pensions landscape and regulatory framework, or a comparable regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of the policy cycle, regulatory approaches, and legislative requirements
  • Experience delivering complex policy and behaviour change in government or regulatory settings
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders while working independently to meet strategic objectives
  • Ability to analyse information from varied sources to inform policy decisions
  • Experience building effective relationships internally and externally to achieve policy goals
  • Experience managing or coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical policy solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a range of audiences

The Policy team shapes TPR’s approach to pensions regulation, working with government, industry and colleagues to develop clear, evidence‑based solutions. They turn policy ideas into practical standards and guidance, helping protect savers, support compliance and ensure the pensions system works effectively for members, employers and trustees across the UK.
