Are you passionate about Early Years Education and supporting children with Special Educational Needs?
Do you bring extensive experience and expertise in working with young children and their families?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Sefton’s Early Years Service as a Portage Advisor. We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual to become part of our committed Early Years SEND Team, delivering early intervention support to children with additional needs and their families.
In this role, you will provide a personalised package of assessment, monitoring, and play-based intervention through a home-visiting service for a designated caseload of Early Years children across the borough of Sefton. Daily travel to family homes is a key aspect of the role.
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong understanding of child development
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Effective workload management skills
Familiarity with the Portage model or previous Portage training would be highly beneficial, but not essential.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and other relevant employment checks.
