The City of Doncaster Council is seeking to recruit three Pride in Place Facilitators to support the delivery of the Government-funded Pride in Place Programme. These exciting fixed-term opportunities will play a pivotal role in helping communities shape the future of their neighbourhoods and deliver visible, meaningful change.
There is one post available in each of the following localities:
- Rossington
- Conisbrough and Denaby
- Mexborough
Working alongside local Pride in Place Boards, residents, elected members, community organisations and partners, you will support the development and delivery of projects that strengthen community pride, improve local environments and create sustainable long-term change.
We are looking for individuals who understand the value of community-led regeneration and can build trusted relationships within neighbourhoods. Knowledge of the allocated locality, its opportunities, challenges, community assets and stakeholders will be advantageous.
About the Pride in Place Programme
Pride in Place is a community-led investment programme designed to put local people at the heart of decision-making. Through locally established Pride in Place Boards, residents and partners work together to identify priorities, influence investment decisions and develop projects that improve the places where people live, work and spend their time.
The programme aims to build civic pride, strengthen communities, support local leadership and ensure investment reflects the needs and aspirations of local people.
Duties Include
- Supporting Pride in Place Boards to identify priorities and develop community-led projects.
- Developing and managing projects from inception to delivery and evaluation.
- Building effective relationships with residents, businesses, community groups and stakeholders.
- Facilitating engagement activities to ensure community voices influence decision-making.
- Developing project proposals, delivery plans and funding opportunities aligned to local priorities.
- Monitoring project performance and reporting on outcomes and achievements.
- Coordinating activity across council services, community organisations and partner agencies.
- Identifying risks and removing barriers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Promoting the Pride in Place Programme and encouraging community participation.
- Supporting neighbourhood regeneration and the long-term sustainability of projects.
- Using local intelligence and insight to inform investment and project development.

Travel and Working Requirements
This is a community-based role and successful candidates will be expected to work extensively within their allocated locality and across Doncaster as required.
Regular travel will be necessary to attend community meetings, engagement events, project activities, site visits and partnership meetings. The role also requires a flexible approach to working, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support community engagement and programme delivery.
Assessment Centre and Key Dates
- Assessment Centre: Saturday 17 October 2026 from approximately 10:00am
- Location: Civic Office, Doncaster
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre designed to assess the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the role through a range of practical exercises, activities and discussions.
