Penistone St John’s Primary School require a Primary Classroom Maternity Cover Teacher – Early Years
January 2027 – August 2027 (or sooner should the post holder return)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Early Years Teacher to join our welcoming and supportive primary school on a maternity cover basis from January 2027 to August 2027 (or sooner should the post holder return)

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is dedicated to providing high-quality early years education and ensuring every child makes excellent progress in a nurturing environment.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have proven experience teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Have knowledge and commitment to developing strong foundations
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of early child development and the EYFS framework
  • Be skilled in creating engaging, inclusive and stimulating learning environments
  • Have experience teaching Read Write Inc. phonics (advantageous)
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to school life

This post is suitable for experienced teachers with a strong background in Early Years. Experience delivering Read Write Inc. phonics would be highly desirable.
