About the role
As part of our commitment to providing high quality assurance services, we are recruiting a motivated and proficient Principal Auditor to assist in the delivery of the Council’s Internal Audit Plan. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and high performing auditor to join our high profile Internal Audit service.
The main objective of the role is to contribute to the Council's governance and assurance framework by delivering an allocated portion of the risk based audit plan. You will also provide advice in relation to risks and controls to officers across the Council. The role reports to the Audit Manager and is based within the Council's highly respected Internal Audit, Investigations and Risk Management service. There are also opportunities to broaden your profile and knowledge as we are part of a Cross Council Assurance Service consisting of a number of London boroughs that co-source Internal Audit functions with PwC. The Cross Council Assurance Services provides opportunities for auditors to network and share intelligence.

About you
You will be IIA qualified/part-qualified or hold an AAT qualification/similar. You will have a sound understanding of risk based internal audit techniques and methodologies. The ideal candidate will currently be working in a private or public sector Internal Audit role and will have experience of delivering risk based audit reviews. We are looking for a self-motivated and effective team player with excellent verbal and written skills and the credibility and confidence to liaise with officers across the Council, including the senior leadership.
Your technical skills will be supported by knowledge and experience of risk based audit techniques and you will have a proven track record of excellent customer focus. You will be able to work on your own initiative and have the ability to juggle conflicting priorities and support requests for advice at short notice.
