Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of people in Knowsley?

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Intelligence and Insight Officer to join our team and play a central role in shaping the future of our borough.

This is a senior, career graded post, offering progression opportunities based on your skills, experience and impact. As a Principal Intelligence and Insight Officer you’ll

  • Lead the development of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and other key intelligence products.
  • Provide high-quality analysis and insight on complex issues, from demographics and inequalities to the wider determinants of health and wellbeing.
  • Support services across the Council to make better use of intelligence and insight in their planning and delivery.
  • Work closely with partners across the Knowsley Better Together Partnership to share data, insight and research, ensuring that decisions are informed by evidence and by the voices of local communities.
  • Play a role in our Data Transformation Programme, exploring new approaches including AI tools.
  • Manage and develop members of the Intelligence and Insight Team, ensuring high standards and continual improvement.

We’re looking someone who can work at pace and manage multiple priorities, while keeping sight of the bigger picture. You’ll bring:

  • Strong skills in data analysis, research and interpretation, with the ability to turn complex information into actionable insight.
  • Evidence of presenting complex and sensitive information into actionable insight.
  • A collaborative approach, working across reams and partners to deliver shared goals.
  • A commitment to embedding community voices in intelligence work, helping to ensure residents’ perspectives inform decision making.
