We are recruiting a Principal Procurement Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

We pay an attractive salary of £41,511 - £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
Under the general direction of the Procurement and Information Services Manager and Commercial Lead Procurement & Collaboration, the post holder will be responsible for:
Leading on the Council’s All-Wales collaborative Food Framework, est. annual value £36 million.
Leading and advising on Housing and Property Services/ Building Consultancy with several important and high-profile projects aligned to the Council’s forward work programme.
Implementation of the new procurement legislation across the Council.
Line management of Procurement Officers & Buyers Assistants.
Supporting the Transformation Programme (Team Caerphilly).
Implementing the Council’s standing orders for contracts, procurement strategy, corporate objectives, advocating local & national policies & initiatives.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or other recognised qualification.
- Experience of planning and developing contract arrangements.
- Proven experience at a senior level within a purchasing organisation.
