About the role
Crawley Borough Council is leading the transformation of the Borough, working in close partnership with stakeholders to deliver a £125 million programme of ambitious regeneration projects which will help the town embrace its full potential and boost job creation, business growth and economic recovery.
One of our flagship regeneration projects is the ‘Three Bridges Station Improvement Scheme’ – a multi-million pound, transformative infrastructure project being delivered by Crawley Borough Council in partnership with West Sussex County Council, Network Rail and Govia Thameslink Railway through the Crawley Growth Programme.
The project aims to modernise and enhance the area around Three Bridges railway station including physical improvements to the forecourt area, a new pedestrian and cycle entrance from Station Hill, provision of dedicated safe spaces for passenger and taxi drop off and waiting areas, improvements to parking facilities and accessibility; creating a safer, vibrant new space with excellent connectivity for all users.
To help us achieve our ambition, we are looking for an exceptional individual with a proven track record in successfully delivering complex regeneration projects – particularly in the transport sector – through effective and collaborative partnership. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience of working closely with railway authorities and other key stakeholders, bringing passion and enthusiasm to deliver the Three Bridges Station Improvement Scheme.
To be successful in this role you will need the behaviours, knowledge and experience required to ensure the successful delivery of regeneration schemes. We are looking for someone who will demonstrate all of the council’s values and behaviours and continually strive for excellence.
You will:
- have excellent understanding of regeneration programme delivery and policy, particularly within a public transport context and significant experience of designing and delivering sustainable transport infrastructure schemes with a strong working knowledge of planning and public procurement procedures
- use your considerable experience of working in partnership in regeneration delivery, building effective relationships at all levels with stakeholders, supported by excellent communication and presentation skills
- have a proven track record of project managing and delivering complex projects, using effective project management skills and tools
Crawley is an exciting place to work, with a vibrant town centre and excellent transport connections. We have a hybrid working set up which allows a balance of working from home and at least two days from our modern office.
We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as we may close this advert before the stated closing date if enough applications are received.
