Join our Team as a Procurement and Contract Management Support Officer
Are you looking to build your career in procurement and contract management within a supportive and dynamic team? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to play a vital role in delivering expert procurement and contract advice across the Council. You will also be required to provide support on the high profile PFI contract that delivers housing services and repairs to Stanhope council tenants.
About the Role: As a Procurement and Contract Management Support Officer, you will:
Assist in preparing tender documents
Support tender evaluation and communicate results to bidders in line with the Procurement Act 2023.
Maintain the Contracts Register, ensuring compliance with the Transparency Act 2015.
Help prepare spend analysis data and monitor procurement spend
Provide administrative and technical support to Contract Officers, including work on the PFI Contract.
Be the first point of contact for the team, handling enquiries professionally via phone, email, and in person.
Provide administration support to the Team, organising and supporting meetings, including preparing agendas, briefing papers, and minutes.
Update the Procurement and Contracts Section’s online resources.
About You: We’re looking for someone who is:
Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload.
Skilled in communication, both written and verbal.
Experienced in providing administrative support, ideally within local government or a similar environment.
Understanding of contracts and the requirements to monitor performance and delivery
Meticulous with attention to detail and achieving deadlines
IT literate, with strong skills in MS Office (especially Outlook, Word nd Excel).
Committed to delivering excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

Salary range
- £26,685 - £29,079 per year
