We are recruiting a Procurement Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time
Location: Ty Penallta

Team: Procurement and Information Services


This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £34,314 - £37,035 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be under the general direction of the Commercial Lead Procurement & Collaboration and Principal Procurement Officer. You will be supporting and advising on procurement procedures for Housing with several important and high-profile projects aligned to the Council’s forward work programme.

The postholder will Implement the Council’s standing orders for contracts, procurement strategy, corporate objectives and advocating local & national policies & initiatives. You will also be supporting the Transformation Programme (Team Caerphilly)

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • 5 GCSEs Grade A* – C or qualifications set at a similar level on the Credit and Qualifications Framework.
  • A member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or actively studying towards the institute’s examinations.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a large purchasing organisation.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit Council offices which are not on bus routes to attend meetings and support service areas.
