    About the role

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Transformation Project Lead to join the Transformation Team within the People Directorate at West Northamptonshire Council.

    Please note, this is a fixed term contract until June 30th 2027.

    This role plays a key part in delivering impactful change across the organisation, leading a portfolio of projects that support service improvement and transformation. Typically managing smaller-scale, lower-risk projects, you will take full ownership from initial definition through to delivery and post-implementation review—ensuring solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable benefits.

    Working closely with Project Managers, senior stakeholders and service teams, you will help shape how we deliver change, embedding consistent approaches to project delivery and supporting the Council’s ambition to continuously improve services for our residents.

    Additional information

    You will be an experienced project professional with a strong track record of delivering complex transformation projects, ideally within local government or a similarly complex organisation. You bring a structured and disciplined approach to project management, combined with the flexibility to adapt in a changing environment.

    You are confident working with senior stakeholders and can build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation. Your communication skills allow you to clearly articulate progress, risks and challenges, and you are comfortable influencing decision-making where needed.

    You will also be highly organised, outcome-focused, and motivated by delivering tangible improvements. A recognised project management qualification (such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent) and experience in change management methodologies will support your success in this role.
