Project Manager
Full time (35 hrs/wk), fixed term for 24 months
Flexible place of work to be discussed at interview, with a preference of one to two days per week at the Horizons office
Salary range £44,000 to £46,000 pa plus benefits
A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join our ever-growing Strategy and Planning Office, leading on a portfolio of initiatives to support our strategic priorities. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution, working closely with the Director of Strategy and Planning and teams across the University. You will lead the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, managing digital and technological components and ensuring effective and successful outcomes.
This is an exciting time for the University, and you will be integral in representing the Strategy & Planning Office in cross-institutional initiatives and supporting the wider ambitions of the University.
Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:
- Lead cross‑departmental projects with multiple stakeholders
- Contribute to clear, evidence-based business cases, articulating benefits, costs, and risks
- Manage project budgets and supplier relationships, escalating significant variances where appropriate
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders, and delivery teams
Our main requirements:
- Certification in a recognised project management methodology (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, PMP)
- Experience in leading end-to-end delivery of cross-departmental projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience in managing projects with significant digital/technology components (e.g., systems, platforms, or digital services), working effectively with technical specialists
- Adaptability and resilience; able to work on varying projects and handle challenges in a fast-paced environment
