About the Role
As a Project Officer in our Buildings, Structural, Civils & Marine division, you will play a key role in supporting the Principal Officer and Senior Officers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across the Merseytravel estate. Working within a dynamic matrix structure, you will help coordinate the delivery of projects for both existing and refurbished assets, whilst drawing on the expertise of our internal teams and, where needed, external partners.
In this role, you will assist in managing suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard - helping us meet and exceed client expectations. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that keeps our community moving.
About the person
The Project Officer should have a relevant HNC / NVQ or equivalent qualification, or experience of estate maintenance in a multi-disciplinary environment while ensuring the safe, reliable operation and utilisation of the estate. The role requires an understanding of the Health and Safety duties required for running large commercial building / construction contracts and be conversant with environmental legislation and codes of practice. The Project Officer should have basic knowledge of industry specific contracts and their relevance and suitability to building and construction projects, be commercially aware and must possess the ability to negotiate and deliver commercial contracts. The candidate must be computer literate with a high degree of ICT skills, have a flexible approach to work and have excellent communication skills.

Salary range
- £28,511 - £31,522 per year
