Are you highly organised, detail-focussed and passionate about supporting services that improve the health and wellbeing of local communities?

We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and proactive individual to fulfil the role as Contracts Support Officer in joining our Strategic Commissioning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting commissioned public health services across Wolverhampton by conducting a range of administrative tasks to ensure contracts are effectively managed, monitored and delivered to a high standard.

As part of a busy and supportive team, you will provide a range of business, financial and project support functions, contributing to the smooth delivery of public health programmes and services. Your responsibilities will include coordinating contract management processes, supporting governance meetings, processing invoices and payments, monitoring budgets, maintaining contract records, and assisting with performance reporting.

The successful candidate will have demonstratable experience of providing business support in a complex environment, excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. You will be confident managing data and financial information, producing reports, and supporting projects to meet deadlines and objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential (please note the interview will include a skills test).

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
