What will you be doing?

Public Health Officer - Hybrid working

We are looking to appoint a Public Health Officer to join our thriving Best Start in Life team in Kent County Council.

You will effectively support the co-ordination, delivery and monitoring of the Delivery Plan for Best Start in Life activity.

You will have excellent oral and written communication skills to successfully help deliver this programme of work.

You will be very skilled in the use of Excel and Microsoft teams.

You will have a keen interest and enthusiasm for improving the lives of children at the start of their life and you will have a proven history of supporting projects and of partnership working.

This role will be supported, and line managed by the PNMH/PIR Strategy and Facilitator Lead and be part of a friendly, dynamic and supportive team.

Interviews will be held on 15th/16th October 2026.

All the posts are subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

All posts are considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
