About you...

We are looking for an ambitious, innovative and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Public Health Practitioner to support a range of public health workstreams.

As a Public Health Practitioner you will have a unique opportunity to further develop your specialist public health competencies.

You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant experience, as outlined in the person specification.

About the team...

We are a small, ambitious Public Health team, supported not only within our organisation but also by the wider East Berkshire Public Health system.

We are extremely agile and receptive to change and team members feel inspired within their roles to deliver and can clearly see the difference they are making to our local residents.

Key responsibilities...

  • To contribute to key public health outcomes by supporting the development and delivery of evidence-based Public Health programmes and projects, working as part of cross-directorate and organisational project teams, in collaboration with external partners.
  • To lead on defined programmes and projects in agreement with the Public Health Advanced Practitioner and the Consultant in Public Health, including budget and staff management, and reporting to senior officers and committees.
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure a public health approach is central to all organisation and system-wide business as usual, taking a lead in certain areas when required. This work involves multi‑agency collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver agreed prevention priorities.
