
Public Transport Network Delivery Manager

💼 Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the planning and delivery of contracted bus services across the region. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, contract management, and improving public transport outcomes for communities.
The role will work in the Public Transport Team, as part of the Place and Connectivity Directorate. You will report into the Assistant Director for Public Transport.
🔧 What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the delivery of contracted bus services and advising on the commercial network.
- Managing procurement processes and contracts with bus operators to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Overseeing timetable planning and service expansion opportunities.
- Monitoring performance and reporting progress to senior stakeholders and committees.
- Acting as the lead expert on bus service delivery and governance models.
- Liaising with regulatory bodies including VOSA and the Traffic Commissioner’s Office.
What we're looking for
👀 We’re looking for someone with:
- Education to a degree level or equivalent experience working at a commensurate level.
- Extensive experience in bus service delivery, ideally through contracted mechanisms.
- Strong contract management and procurement skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of transport policy, funding, and governance within local or central government.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to drive service improvements and innovation.

Salary range
- £53,895 per year
