About the Role
Are you passionate about improving learner outcomes and embedding inclusive practices in adult education? Havering Adult College is seeking a dynamic and committed Quality and Inclusive Learning Lead Officer to champion quality assurance, inclusive learning, and learner support across our provision.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the development and implementation of effective learning support measures—ensuring equality of opportunity and a high-quality customer experience for all learners. The postholder will play a central role in shaping our quality improvement agenda and will directly contribute to the professional development of staff across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team of Learning Support Assistants, ensuring the delivery of targeted, high-quality learner support.
- Line manage the Centre Support Supervisor, overseeing inclusive practices during initial assessments, guidance sessions, and customer service activities.
- Develop and implement inclusive learning and support policies that enable individualised support planning from enrolment onwards.
- Plan, deliver, and assess accredited teacher training programmes (e.g., Level 4 Certificate/Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training).
- Undertake internal quality assurance (IQA) duties and support preparation for external quality assurance (EQA).
- Observe teaching practices, lead standardisation activities, and deliver CPD to support continuous improvement.
- Drive high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment across all programmes as directed by the Quality and Curriculum Manager.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about lifelong learning and adult education.
- Skilled in quality assurance and inclusive education practices.
- Able to lead and inspire teams with a learner-centric and proactive approach.
- Experienced in delivering accredited teacher training and conducting IQA activities.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (or equivalent or higher)
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement
- Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance
Proven experience in:
- Quality assurance and continuous improvement
- Delivering teacher training and CPD
- Leading inclusive learning practices and learner support interventions
