Our Team:

Our Care Leavers Team support young people transitioning from care into adulthood. We provide advice, guidance, and practical support around housing, education, employment, training, health, finances, and independent living. Working closely with each young person through a dedicated Personal Advisor, the service aims to help care leavers build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes as they move towards independence.

The team are primarily based at Rutland House in Runcorn, with the ability to work on a hybrid and agile basis.

Regular travel may also be required so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Hours: 22hrs – working pattern can be discussed.

Your Contributions:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance and Reviewing Manager who will be instrumental in promoting high-quality practice, supporting service improvement, and helping to deliver positive outcomes for the young people we support.

You will hold a L5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and will be able to evidence experience of working with children in care, supporting their transitions to adulthood alongside supporting care experienced young adults. You will also have extensive knowledge of the pathway planning process.

Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:

• Reviewing and quality assuring Post-18 Pathway Plans for care-experienced young people, including those who are separated from their families and arrived in the UK unaccompanied and are seeking asylum as young adults.

• Ensuring all areas of need, such as accommodation, education, employment, health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and immigration status, are comprehensively addressed.

• Ensuring plans are outcome-focused, timely, and demonstrate clear progress and next steps to support effective transitions to adulthood and independence, while providing appropriate challenge to maintain ambition and high aspirations for every young person.

• Evaluating pathway planning against relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and corporate parenting responsibilities, ensuring plans promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive long-term outcomes.

• Championing high-quality, inclusive practice by centring the young person’s voice, promoting co-production, and ensuring culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches.

• Identifying gaps in provision or practice and escalating concerns to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time
