
Reactive Maintenance Planner
Reactive Repairs Planner – Keep Our Repairs Service Running Smoothly
Are you highly organised, great with people, and confident working in a fast‑paced environment? As a Reactive Repairs Planner, you’ll play an essential role in coordinating operatives, subcontractors and resident appointments to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and on time.
You’ll manage daily workloads through our scheduling systems, keep communication flowing between residents and operatives, and make sure every repair progresses smoothly from start to finish. This is a role where your planning skills, attention to detail and customer‑focused approach make a real impact every single day.
What you’ll do
- Plan and schedule all reactive repair jobs, allocating the right operatives or contractors
- Manage operatives’ diaries and adjust schedules throughout the day as priorities change
- Keep residents informed by handling inbound and outbound calls
- Support first‑time‑fix outcomes wherever possible
- Arrange follow‑on works and order materials when required
- Update all systems with accurate job status information and completion forecasts
- Monitor progress of jobs and escalate issues where needed
- Track performance against KPIs and support reporting requirements
- Work collaboratively with managers, contractors and colleagues to resolve issues quickly
- Maintain professional, clear communication with residents and operatives
- Contribute to a high‑quality, customer‑focused repairs service
What you’ll need
- Experience in planning or scheduling work in a fast‑moving environment (repairs, maintenance or gas planning preferred)
- Strong customer service skills and confidence dealing with the public
- Excellent communication skills and strong IT capability, including Microsoft Office
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and confidence solving problems to resolution
