Our Regional Estates Business Change Managers play a critical role helping deliver justice.
About us
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. Our roles support our service users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life-changing justice. About your role
Your role will be to support the delivery of the South East Regional Estate Strategy which has the following main objectives:
- Seek investment that aligns with business priorities to address long standing estates issues and future business needs (including the development of business cases for additional capacity where required).
- Ensure our estate is safe and accessible for all staff, court users and Judiciary.
- Maximise capacity by adopting a flexible approach to the use of our estate, ensuring that court cases are scheduled in the building best suited to the specific requirements of each case
- Consider potential options for future lease events and retain / dispose decisions where applicable.
- Promote and increase sustainability.
You will deliver this through proactive, close collaboration with colleagues from various departments, central projects, change leads and regional operational leads.
You will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of estates activity as outlined above, using standard frameworks providing a bridge between project and operational users to ensure that activities are planned, supported, and delivered, whilst maintaining operational delivery of business as usual.
You will be reporting directly to the G7 Head of Regional Business Change.
Whilst this role will not have any HEO business change support attached to it, across the region, we do have a pool of HEO business change professionals to support change activity, and this could be pulled upon to provide additional support subject to business needs.
The post holder is required to work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.

The role can accommodate a hybrid approach, postholders will be subject to the current policy for hybrid working and required to work in the office for 60% of their time.
Where people have reasonable adjustments, we will treat these in line with normal policies and procedures to consider what adjustments can be made.
Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. This is a business-critical role requiring full time hours however flexible or compressed working patterns would be considered, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment.
Occasional travel to other HMCTS sites
For this post, travel within your Region will be required to support with property and estate activities.
Where required, travel expenses will be paid in accordance with organisational policies.
