Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Service is committed to excellent customer service. Our aim is to continuously find ways to improve the way we do things to meet the needs of the people of Warwickshire and beyond.

Our team provides a range of services including birth, stillbirth, and death registration, notice of marriage and civil partnership, copy certificates and citizenship. In addition, we conduct around 3,000 civil ceremonies a year, in both our own venues and 80 Licensed Venues and other unlicensed locations approved by the Registration Service

The Role

We are looking for a Registration Officer to join our Rugby and Nuneaton registration office teams. The vacancy is for 29.6 hours to be worked on a Monday and Tuesday at Rugby registration office and a Thursday and Friday at Nuneaton registration office.

As a Registration Officer you will register births, deaths, stillbirths, attest notices of marriage and civil partnership, officiate ceremonies, issue certificates and other statutory duties while providing professional and compassionate support to customers through life's most significant events.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of three years' professional experience, with the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidance. You will have strong administrative and customer service experience, excellent communication skills, and a meticulous approach to maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information.

You will be confident working independently and as part of a team, able to prioritise competing demands, adapt to changing circumstances and maintain high standards under pressure. Strong emotional intelligence, tact and diplomacy are essential when supporting customers through significant and sometimes distressing life events.

You will have excellent ICT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office, Outlook and electronic systems, along with the ability to process and reconcile payments. A willingness to undertake training, keep your knowledge up to date and travel across Warwickshire to support service delivery is also required.
