Are you looking for a new challenge?

The Housing Income and Leaseholder Management Team are looking for a Rent Recovery Assistant to join us. This role will see you working as part of a small team working with our customers to prevent and recover rent arrears, maximise the Council's housing income whilst sustaining tenancies and signposting to support where needed.

If you are looking for a varied, front facing and hybrid role this could be the role for you. You’ll need to be able to transport yourself across the District visiting our tenants, and enjoy a fast paced varied role. We’re looking for passionate individuals who thrive in a customer-focused environment. Your experience doesn’t have to include income recovery as full training will be provided. Experience of working with customers, working in housing, working with figures and/or benefits would be advantageous.

What we offer: In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a fantastic package of benefits:

  • Enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme.
  • Flexi scheme.
  • Hybrid working.
  • A generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service.
  • Family-friendly benefits.
  • One days’ paid volunteering leave.
  • Lifestyle benefits platform.
  • Funded health cash plan.
  • Free car parking to June 2026
  • £10 a month gym membership at one of our four gyms in the district

We’re an ambitious, forward-thinking Council with strong values and a culture of doing our absolute best to serve our customers. We are proud of our organisational culture and receive positive feedback from our employees. We have a programme of internal activity to ensure that the voices of our employees are always heard and that they are kept informed on all Council activity and events. From roadshows to an annual award ceremony, from reviewing working arrangements to our Hug in a Mug initiative, it is incredibly important our employees are shown how valued they are and that they remain the beating heart of our workplace.

Ready to join us? If you're excited about this opportunity and want to learn more, we’d love to have an informal chat with you.
