At the heart of Lewisham’s housing service, this role puts you in charge of a high‑impact repairs operation—leading teams, driving improvement, and delivering the frontline service that keeps thousands of residents safe, warm and proud of their homes

What’s the role?

The Repairs Operations Manager will lead Lewisham’s Direct Labour Organisation to deliver a high‑quality, customer‑focused responsive repairs service, setting clear professional standards and expectations across all frontline activity. This role is pivotal in ensuring residents experience a reliable, respectful and efficient service every time they interact with the repairs team, from first contact through to completion of works.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a visible, customer‑focused leader who sets and upholds clear professional standards across a Direct Labour Organisation. You will lead by example, promoting respectful behaviour in residents’ homes, taking ownership of service quality, and holding teams to account for workmanship, conduct and safety.

You will be hands‑on and operationally grounded, calm under pressure, and confident in managing performance while supporting teams to improve. A strong commitment to customer service, accountability and pride in the service will be essential, alongside the ability to build trust, motivate frontline staff and drive continuous improvement in resident experience.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Special conditions

  • Working toward of relevant CIH level 4 or above
  • IOSH, SMSTS or NEBOSH
  • Weekend working is required for this job
  • The job is subject to an enhanced DBS check

Salary

£63,816 - £66,084 per annum (PO8)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
