As a Repairs Inspector, you’ll play a key role in delivering an effective, efficient, and resident-first repairs service - focusing on quality, value for money, and getting things right first time. Acting as the eyes and ears on the ground, you’ll work closely with contractors, residents, and internal teams to ensure that repairs are properly diagnosed, completed to a high standard, and meet all health and safety requirements.

What you’ll do:

You’ll be the go-to person for managing day-to-day repairs, post-inspections, and more complex cases - providing expert advice and technical support across a wide range of property issues, including damp and mould, planned maintenance, voids, and housing condition complaints.

Your focus will be on resolving issues quickly, fairly and with minimal disruption to residents. You’ll manage your own diary, carry out regular inspections, and ensure that all repairs are carried out to the expected standard; holding contractors to account and making sure residents are kept fully informed throughout.

You’ll also play an active role in helping to shape future services, feeding into planned maintenance programmes, identifying trends, and supporting our wider estate management work.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires visibility in our communities, flexibility to travel across your patch, and the confidence to act decisively when issues arise. Willingness to take part in an out-of-hours rota, including evenings and weekends is required. You'll be required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.

We have three positions available; one will cover Northwest London, Northeast London and South London.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience of working in social housing, building maintenance, or a similar property related field
  • Knowledge of building pathology and housing repair standards
  • An understanding of responsive repairs or the desire to work in that field
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload
  • A resident-focused mindset, with a strong sense of accountability and empathy
  • Confidence in handling complaints, escalations, and post-inspection processes
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, including record-keeping and reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, internal teams, and stakeholders
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and housing regulations

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

A Basic DBS check is required.
