About the Role

The Research and Insight Manager is a strategic role within the Performance, Research and Evaluation team within the Authority. It is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the Research function, which is responsible for gathering, analysing and interpreting data from various sources to inform decision-making and drive organisational effectiveness.

The postholder will be responsible for:

  • •Developing a Research and Insight Strategy for the CA (including the development of best practice tools and guides) and an accompanying research work programme to support the collection of quantitative data, insight and intelligence to inform the ongoing design and development of CA policy and delivery
  • •Leading and developing the research team
  • •Managing the delivery of the work programme
  • •Overseeing and advising on research design, stakeholder management, data analysis, reporting and communications, and the use of insight to support service delivery planning and the development of new interventions

About the person

The successful person will play a key role in translating research evidence and insight into strategic value and will need a good understanding of the objectives of the Combined Authority.

We are looking for an individual who has great management and leadership skills; a curious mindset and a willingness to consider and approach tasks from various perspectives; strong analytical expertise; and someone who can build effective strategic working relationships across the organisation. An ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines will also be essential.
