About the Role:

As Deputy Manager, you'll be a key player in shaping positive change. Collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to establish and manage an innovative 5-bedded children’s home supporting young people. Backed by a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, education advisers from the virtual school, health professionals and social workers; you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of those under your care.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Registered Manager to establish and manage a new service for children.
  • Directly lead Team Leaders, ensuring motivation, development, and nurturing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, education advisers from the virtual school, health professionals and social workers.
  • Maintain high standards of care and a culture for your team to excel.
  • Assist the Registered Manager with day-to-day operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a positive and empowering environment for young people and your team.
  • Develop a child centred, outcome focused home where children and young people can thrive.

Requirements of the role:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
  • QCF Level 4 Children, Young People and Family Practitioner Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of childcare, child development, and the impact of trauma.
  • Strong knowledge of OFSTED legislation.
  • Proven track record supporting young people with EBD.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shift patterns.
  • Able to deputise for the Registered Manager
  • Experience of supervising staff

Additional Information:

Contractual hours: 36 per week in accordance with the needs of the service which operates on a rota basis. Shifts can include weekend, holiday and overnight work. The post holder may be required to work outside of normal working hours in accordance with service needs.

Please note this role requires a Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
