Residential PEEPs Assessor

Are you someone who enjoys helping people feel safe, supported and informed? Do you build trust easily and communicate in a calm, clear and friendly way? If so, this role could be a great fit.

About the role

We’re looking for a Residential PEEPs Assessor to work directly with residents who may need extra help in an emergency. You’ll speak with them, understand their individual needs, and create clear and personalised evacuation plans so they feel confident and safe in their homes.

This role is all about people. You’ll spend time talking to residents, listening carefully, and explaining things in a way that’s easy to understand. You’ll also work with our Building Safety and Repairs teams to make sure all safety information is kept up to date, well‑organised and accurate.

You’ll help keep our Premises Information Boxes (PIBs) updated so the emergency services always have the information they need.

What you’ll be doing

  • Meeting with residents to understand their needs and create personalised evacuation plans.
  • Keeping safety documents accurate and up to date (PEEPs, BEEPs, PCFRAs and more).
  • Updating systems and supporting the “golden thread” of safety information.
  • Working closely with colleagues across building safety, operations and resident engagement.
  • Explaining safety processes to residents in a friendly, reassuring way.
  • Helping us improve how we deliver safety information and support.

What we’re looking for

  • Someone kind, patient and an excellent listener.
  • Confident speaking with residents, including those who may feel worried or vulnerable.
  • Good attention to detail with strong written skills.
  • Experience in assessments, risk evaluations, housing, social care, fire safety or similar (helpful but not essential).
  • Well‑organised and able to manage a busy workload.
  • A team player who enjoys working with others to “do the right thing”.

Working Arrangements

This role gives you the freedom to manage your own diary, but it does require flexibility.
Because you’ll be visiting residents in their homes, some people may need appointments later in the day, and occasionally on a Saturday.

When this happens, you would simply adjust your hours, for example:

  • start later and finish later if a resident needs an early‑evening visit
  • take a weekday off if you complete a Saturday visit

We’ll always support you to balance your time, but it’s important that you can work around residents’ needs and the demands of the assessments.

Please note:
You’ll be required to work from the office every Monday, as this is our fixed team day.

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a team that puts residents at the heart of everything we do.
Our values guide how we work every day: Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives by helping keep them safe in their homes.

Here’s what you’ll get when you join us:

  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • 30 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Up to 10% pension contribution, matched 1:1
  • Two additional paid volunteering days each year
  • Flexible benefits scheme, including options for healthcare, dental care, and more

Please read before you apply

  • You must have the right to work in the UK; we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
  • You will be required to have a Basic DBS for this role.
  • This is offered as a fixed term contract of 12 months.
  • You will be allocated to one main region North Counties (HERTS, BEDS, Essex) North East, North West, or South London and most of your visits will take place within that area. This helps you build strong relationships with residents and local teams. However, there may be times when we need you to support another region. When this happens, we will work with you to plan your diary, make sure the travel is manageable, and ensure you have the support you need. Flexibility is important, but you won’t be expected to cover other regions without notice we will always agree this with you in advance.

What to expect from our recruitment process

We’re committed to a fair, inclusive, and transparent recruitment process.

Because we are recruiting five positions, we will be shortlisting and interviewing candidates throughout the live advertising period. This means you may be contacted about an interview before the advert closes. Interviews will be in person at our office in Waterloo on Mondays or Wednesday. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as we may progress strong candidates early.

If you’re someone who is driven by our values, enjoys working closely with residents, and feels confident building trust, solving problems and helping people feel safe in their homes, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply by submitting an anonymised CV and a short statement explaining why you believe you’re a great fit for the Residential PEEPs Assessor role.
