Do you want to work in a supportive, friendly team making a difference to the lives of adults with mental health needs?

The Union Housing Scheme supports adults with severe and enduring mental health needs, providing a stable, supportive environment where people can grow in confidence, develop independence and feel part of their community.

You will:
• Work with people to assess needs and plan with them to achieve positive outcomes
• Encourage independence and daily living skills
• Monitor wellbeing and risks, escalating concerns appropriately
• Support as needed with budgeting, medication and routine household tasks
• Keep accurate records and work effectively as part of a small team

The role focuses on support rather than personal care.

We welcome applicants with experience in mental health, social care or supportive roles. You will need:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience assessing needs or supporting people in distress
• Level 3 Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
• A full UK driving licence and vehicle access

This is a 24-hour service, and you will work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep ins, across a variety of premises in the Halifax area.

For an informal discussion on the role, please contact Simon Oakley, Scheme Manager on 07810 857 063

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS (formerly CRB) from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
