About the Role:
Are you an inspirational teacher who is passionate about improving outcomes for children with complex special educational needs?
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated Resource Teacher to join our specialist SEND Unit at baed at Moorthorpe Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a provision that supports pupils with complex Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and other associated learning needs.
Working closely with the Teacher in Charge of the SEND Unit and Resource Provision of this setting, you will lead and develop a specialist classroom that provides a nurturing, highly personalised learning environment where pupils can thrive, develop independence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
As Resource Teacher, you will:
- Lead, manage and develop a specialist class for pupils with complex ASD and SLD.
- Plan and deliver engaging, highly personalised learning programmes tailored to individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with families, mainstream colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
- Coordinate EHCP reviews in conjunction with the Teacher in Charge, pupil profiles and personalised support plans.
- Support the leadership of and develop a team of specialist support staff within the Unit.
- Support colleagues through sharing expertise, training and best practice in SEND.
- Create a nurturing environment that builds on pupils' strengths, interests and abilities.
What will be expected from me?
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience of teaching pupils with ASD, SLD and complex learning needs.
- Has high expectations and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
- Understands how to adapt teaching approaches, environments and curriculum offer to meet a wide range of needs.
- Is skilled in developing positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
- Can lead and motivate a team whilst maintaining a child-centred approach.
- Is reflective, innovative and committed to continuous improvement.
- Shares our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and raising aspirations for all children.

Salary range
- £31,650 - £51,048 per year
