    The Post

    An exciting opportunity within Brent Customer Access has arisen in our Revenues & Debt service. The successful post holder will be responsible for inspecting new and altered dwellings and hereditaments to ensure that the Council Tax and Business Rates Lists are accurately maintained, and the accurate valuation requests are raised to the Valuation Office.

    The successful candidate is one who can work effectively as part of a team, be able to effectively manage the day-to-day work and actively contribute to the achieving the team’s objectives.

    As an Inspector you need to be able to travel around the borough and work as a ‘lone worker’.

    A full clean driving licence is desirable.

    The Person

    You need to possess good knowledge of the Council Tax, NNDR and Valuation regulations; being familiar with the Brent area and experience with inspecting is desirable. You need to have energy, be well organised, be positive and passionate in your approach and be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

    The successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise and manage their inspection workload and ensure that team targets are achieved. Candidates need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with customers and liaise with other departments to obtain information to maintain accurate records for Council Tax and Business Rates.
