Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the role
As a Revenues Quality Assurance & Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the continuous improvement of Revenues Services. Working closely with the Revenues Management Team, you will help develop and review policies and procedures relating to Council Tax, Business Rates and BID Levy, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. You will design and deliver training programmes, undertake quality assurance checks and provide performance feedback to colleagues and support the successful implementation of new initiatives and projects. The role also involves analysing performance information, contributing to statutory returns and responding to information requests and helping to identify and mitigate operational risks.
About the team
Joining the Revenues Service within the Environment and Resident Experience Directorate, you will become part of a collaborative and customer-focused team committed to delivering high-quality services for residents and businesses. The Quality Assurance and Support function works across Revenues, Customer Services and Finance, providing expert guidance, training and performance support that enables teams to achieve excellent outcomes. This is a varied hybrid role where you will work with officers at all levels, helping to drive service improvement, support learning and development, and maintain high standards of accuracy and customer service.
About you
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Revenues professional with extensive knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates legislation and experience of working within a Local Government Revenues service. You will have proven experience of designing and delivering training, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation. Essential requirements include experience of using a revenues data base (Ideally NEC Iworld), electronic document management systems, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will be committed to delivering outstanding customer service, handling confidential information professionally identifying and resolving problems, and supporting the prevention and detection of fraud. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, are also essential.

At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community. Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.
